Which Edmonds recommend Ridgeline?
Middleweight Honda Ridgelin, and what we recommend, is RTL-T. This top level creature provides the most functional tools we prefer without the cost of comfort. You can get it with a front- or all-wheel drive (we prefer the AWD for the ability to add tow), and this upgraded 8-inch touchscreen, extra USB port, Honda's Lenve Blind-Spots Comes with Monitoring System and Apple Carplay and Android Auto Compatibility
Edmonds Expert Review
overall rating
8.4 / 10
2019 Honda Ridgeline is a typical choice for a midsize pickup truck. Rather than being selected to go with the crowd and choose for traditional body-on-frame design, Honda uses a fully carib unibody construction and fully independent suspension for Ridgeline. These design options provide this truck with class-leading ride comfort and excellent handling.

You also do not miss the utility case. Ridgeline can still afford to 5,000 pounds (3,500 pounds with a front-wheel-drive model), which should be sufficient for a lightweight trailer and some gear. It can also fit the 4-by-8 sheet of plywood in the bed, thanks to a flat load floor - a feature that no other midsize woman currently provides. There are also useful features like the in-bed cargo storage system, which are twice as cooler and have a stereo system made for the tailgate parties which use the bedliner as audio drivers. Inside, Ridgeline is spacious and quiet with plenty of place on the rear seat for passengers and cargoes.

There are some downside. It is not quite capable off-road as some other trucks, and its touchscreen interface can be frustrating to use. Apart from this, if you love the tough stand of pickup, then Redgeline's soft style can be a turnoff. Overall, however, it is a well-rounded package designed for most users, rather than a special tool for just one task. This is one of our favorite trucks on the road today.

In particular, we chose 2019 Honda Ridgeline as one of the Edmonds Best Pickup Trucks and Best Gas Mileage Trucks for this year.

Honda Ridgeline Model
2019 Honda Ridgeline is a four-door, crew-cab-only midsize pickup that is offered in six trim levels: RT, Sport, RTL, RTL-T, RTL-E and Black Edition. RT is only available with front-wheel drive, while sports and RTL are available with front-or all-wheel drive. RTL-E and Black Edition are AWD only. All come with 3.5-liter V6 engine (280 horsepower, 262 pound-feet torque) and six-speed automatic transmission.

The base trim level is a good amount of standard equipment in RT, which includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a tow hitch, cruise control, air conditioning, push-button start and a power lock system, which includes dual-action Telgate. There is a 4.2 inch notification screen between gauge, Bluetooth connectivity and a seven-speaker sound system, which includes a USB port and a 5-inch screen interface which also displays the rearview camera.

Step into the sport and you will find foglights, gray-painted alloy wheels, body-color doors and tailgate handles, keyless entry, remote engine start and tri-zone automatic climate control.

After this is RTL, in which leather seating is done. For the driver, the front seats are heated with armrest and eight-side power adjustment and four-way power adjustment for the passenger. All-wheel-drive versions are heated out of the mirror and have a noise reduction windshield.

Our pick is RTL-T, which combines LED Daytime Running Light and Honda's Laneweep Passenger-Side Blind-Spots Camera System. It upgrades with an 8-inch touchscreen audio system that brings together a more powerful seven-speaker audio system, navigation, HD radio, satellite radio, three and USB port and Apple CarPlay and Android audio smartphone integration.

If you want advanced security gear such as advanced cruise control, automatic emergency emergency braking warning, lane departure warning and intervention, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts, go to RTL-E. Functional differences include a sunroof, LED headlights, driver-seat memory settings, a hot steering wheel, a front passenger armrest, a power-sliding rear window, parking sensor, and two-prong power outlets and LED cargo lights in beds. There is also an advanced sound system with a unique truck-bed speaker system.

Finally, there is Black Edition, which is essentially RTL-E with Black Paint, Black-Paint Wheels, Black Trim, a Black Headliner and Red-Accent Black Leather Seats.

Trim tested
Each vehicle usually comes in many versions, although trim levels share many aspects. All Ridgelines use the same engine, transmission, suspension and tires, so the boards for internal internal characteristics and trim boil. Ratings in this review are based on our full test of Honda Ridgeline RTL-T Crew Cab (3.5L V6 | 6-speed automatic | AWD)
Driving
8.5

Between pickups, Honda Ridgelin is completely independent of its unibody chassis
